Glasgow Cyclefest is part of the annual Bike Week celebrations and the Glasgow West End Festival. Featured events include: Opening guided rides from around Glasgow (from 10:00) converging on Kelvingrove Park. Cycle Skills Challenge course and other events for children. Five Mile Challenge: Introductory rides for newcomers or returners to cycling. Special Olympics and SCU Criterium cycle races on a closed circuit in the park. Guided group rides on routes around Glasgow and into the countryside. Bicycle parade in conjunction with the West End Festival. Trader marquees with stalls from local cycle shops and organisations. Suitable for everyone - we are NOT a racing club - especially those wanting to do a bit more than going to the shops. Children must have a parent with them, please. The Tuesday evening rides go from 7 May to 27 August. Visitors welcome any week - some rides may be quite demanding, others will be easier. We adjust to the riders. Come and join us.

From: Rothesay to: A circular route starting and ending in Rothesay (21 miles round trip) Start: 10.30, Opposite the Pavilion in Rothesay This 21 mile route goes around the beautiful Isle of Bute with views across to the Mull of Kintyre and the Isle of Arran.It also passes through the lovely private grounds of Mount Stuart House. The route is entirely on road surfaces with some hills but suitable for all. Bike hire is available on the island.

From: Edinburgh, Saughton Priosn to: Cramond and loop back to Saughton Priosn (15 mile loop ride) Start: 10:00, Saughton Prison, Gorgie Road, Edinburgh Using Cycle Route 1 and some very short stretches of road, the route is a loop ride from Saughton Prison through Craigleith to Cramond and back to Saughton via Davidson's Mains. Suitable for all the family at any level of cycling experience. Rest Stops in Craigleith and Cramond and free BBQ at the finish in Saughton. Road sections will be marshalled and the whole route will be signposted. Entry fee: £5 for adults £2.50 for children, £10 on the day entry Closing date for entries: Entry available on the day but the cost is increased.

From: Garva Bridge, Upper Speyside to: Kincraig, Speyside (43 miles) Start: [unknown time], Garva Bridge Charity ride for Speyside Handicapped Holiday Trust, a charity helping disabled people to enjoy the outdoors. A mountain bike event, 17 miles over Scotland's highest mountain road (775m) and 26 miles on tarmac road, along the River Spey. Finish at Kincraig Village Fete and Ceilidh.
